TVS iQube To Power Zomato Delivery; 10,000 Electric Scooters For Last-Mile Delivery

TVS, one of the major players in the electric two-wheeler segment, has joined hands with the food-delivery platform Zomato. Both companies together want to promote electric mobility. Due to this partnership, TVS will deliver 10,000 iQube electric scooters to Zomato in the next 2 years. The company also handed over 50 iQube electric scooters to Zomato delivery partners in Hyderabad through Chartered Bikes Pvt Ltd.

Manu Saxena, Senior Vice President, Electric Vehicle Segment at TVS Motor, said that the last-mile delivery service is the right step towards faster adoption of EVs. Under this partnership, the charging station facility will also be available for these scooters. The iQube is the only electric scooter that TVS currently has.

It is the second best-selling electric scooter after Ola Electric S1. Its range is up to 140 km on a single charge. TVS iQube electric scooter comes with a 7-inch TFT touchscreen, clean UI, infinity theme personalisation, voice assist, Alexa skillset, intuitive music player controls, OTA updates, plug-and-play carry with charger, fast charging, safety information, Bluetooth and cloud. It Has features like connectivity options and 32 litres of storage space.

It gets a 5.1 kWh battery pack, which ranges 140 km. TVS iQube brings 5-way joystick interactivity, music control, a proactive notification with vehicle health, 4G telematics and OTA updates. The scooter comes with theme personalisation, voice assists, and Alexa. It supports 1.5kW fast charging. Its SmartConnect platform gets features like a better navigation system, telematics unit, anti-theft and geofencing.

iQube Daily Cost and Range

TVS Motors has explained the cost of its electric scooter on the official page of iQube. The company says that Rs 100 per litre has to be spent on a petrol vehicle. In such a situation, the cost of running 50,000 km with a petrol scooter comes to about Rs 1 lakh.

At the same time, the cost of running 50,000 km with its iQube electric scooter comes to Rs 6,466. Also, GST is saved. Service and maintenance cost is also saved. Thus iQube saves Rs 93,500 on 50,000 km.

TVS has also claimed that a single charge for the iQube costs Rs 19. Its iQube ST model gets fully charged in 4 hours and 6 minutes. After this, it can be run up to 145 km. This means you walk 30 km daily; this electric scooter will have to be charged 2 times a week. The cost of charging twice will be Rs 37.50. That is, the average monthly expenditure is Rs 150. That is, the expenditure of every day will be Rs. At the same time, its range will be 290 km on charging twice. You can comfortably walk an average of 30 km daily at this expense.
