Tata Motors has announced that the Curvv SUV will be launched on August 7. The company will launch it with petrol, diesel and electric powertrains. The new SUV coupe will be placed between the Nexon and Harrier in the lineup. The biggest competitor of the Curv will be the upcoming Citroen Besalt.
New Details Revealed
Tata Motors is releasing teasers of the new SUV coupe on its social media page. The brand has revealed that the SUV will come with paddle shifters, which will help manually control the gearbox, while the EV version can be used to change the brake regeneration level.
Possible Specifications
It will have three driving modes: city, eco, and sport. It will also have a digital driver display, which is taken from the Nexon EV and Punch EV. The Curv will also have automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, a touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless charger, a multi-function steering wheel and a sunroof. It is expected to be given ADAS Suite.
Powertrain and Performance
The Tata Curvv will be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine already offered in the Tata Altroz and Nexon. It will also be provided with a turbo petrol engine, which is unknown. Gearbox options are expected to include a 6-speed manual unit and automatic transmission.
The Curvv EV will be based on the new Active.EV platform, which was first introduced with the Punch EV. The estimated range of the Curvv EV will be around 500 km. It will have features like vehicle-to-load functionality, brake regeneration, driving modes, and DC charging.
