Mahindra Thar 5-Door Armada Seen During Testing

Mahindra Thar Armada has been seen several times during testing. Mahindra has been testing this vehicle across India for quite some time now. The body of Mahindra Thar Five Door looks bigger while maintaining the original rugged silhouette. Apart from this, the 5-door version points to different styling cues. Mahindra Thar Armada appears to have a boxy design with a straight bonnet with external locks and flared wheel arches for better off-road capability.

The test mule has five-spoke alloy wheels, with a steel spare wheel indicating the mid-spec variant. The top-spec model is expected to have multi-spoke alloy wheels. The car also features larger ORVMs and LED taillights with integrated stop lamps. The tailgate design may be different from the current Mahindra Thar.

Features Expected To Be Upgraded

A few days ago, the pictures indicated a fully digital instrument cluster and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Front and rear centre armrests, a rear wiper, rear AC vents, and possibly a sunroof are also present.

Powertrain and Power

The Mahindra Thar Armada will likely have the same 2.2-litre diesel engine offered in the Mahindra Scorpio-N. This engine produces 174 bhp. It can also have the 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine, which produces 201 bhp. Both engines can be paired with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options.
