Hyundai is set to introduce several new models in India next year or even before that. The extensively updated Creta was launched earlier this year and received a great customer response. Following this success, the Alcazar is set to get a mid-cycle update and has been spotted testing in India several times.
Design Updates
It will get a new front grille and headlamps with LED daytime running lights inspired by the Creta. The latest pictures show a side profile with creases and skid plates. The updated model will also get new front and rear bumpers and connected LED tail lamps.
This three-row SUV will be different from the Creta in some special ways. Inside the cabin, it gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, ventilated seats at the front, Level 2 ADAS and a dual-pane sunroof.
Engine and Performance
It will be powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 116 PS and 250 Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 160 PS and 253 Nm of torque. There will be 6-speed manual, 6-speed TC and 7-speed DCT transmission options as the Alcazar will continue to be sold across the extended range.
Expected Price and Competitors
The Hyundai Alcazar is priced at Rs 16.80 lakh for the base variant and currently goes up to Rs 21.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The arrival of the facelift may lead to a slight increase in prices.
The updated model will directly compete with cars like Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV 700 and Mahindra Scorpio. This segment will see a lot of activity in the coming years as new models await launch.
