Honda Recalled This Bike, This Big Defect Came To Light

Honda GL1800 Gold Wing Recall: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recently announced big news. The company has decided to recall some premium bike GL1800 Gold Wing units. This step is part of the process being done at the global level. Some defects have come out in this bike, so the company has decided to recall it. The relief news is that you will not have to pay any money to replace the damaged part.

Why Was The Recall Done?

According to the company, a problem has been found in the engine’s primary drive gear fastening bolt in some GL1800 Gold Wing bikes manufactured between March 2018 and May 2021. Due to this defect, the bolt may break in some conditions, causing the engine to shut down suddenly. This is a severe problem in terms of customer safety.

What Will Happen To The Customers?

Honda has identified this defect and has relieved the owners of the motorcycles affected by it. The company said that the defective parts of the affected Honda GL1800 Gold Wing will be replaced across India from the third week of December 2024. Customers will not be charged for this.

What Should Customers Do?

If you have a GL1800 Gold Wing motorcycle manufactured between March 2018 and May 2021, contact your nearest Honda dealership and have it checked. The company’s service centres will fix this defect for free.

The company will inform the customers through its BigWing dealers today by calling, e-mailing, and SMS to check their bikes. Customers can also check whether their bike is part of this recall by entering their Unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the Honda BigWing website.
