Indian Railway New Rules: Big news has come out for the passengers of Indian Railways. The government has significantly changed the limit for booking of trains. Railways has reduced the booking period from 120 days to 60 days. You cannot do so 120 days in advance if you want to book a ticket. Now, you must book tickets two months in advance for rail travel.
Crores Of Passengers Travel Daily
Crores of people travel daily on the Indian Railways. Until now, people in the country used to book their seats on the train four months before the travel date, which gave them a confirmed seat. But now the Railways has changed those rules. The new rule was implemented on November 1, 2024. Railway passengers can now book seats on the train a maximum of 60 days in advance.
What Will Happen To The Tickets That Are Already Booked Now?
Railway Board Director Sanjay Manocha says the rules will be effective November 1, 2024. From November 1, passengers cannot book tickets 120 days, i.e., four months in advance. Booking will also be done according to this rule. Manocha said all bookings made until October 31, 2024, will remain valid.
