Journalist Had Made Allegations Of Match Fixing, Babar Azam Filed A Defamation Case

The T20 World Cup 2024 was nothing special for the Pakistan team. Questions were also raised about Babar Azam’s performance. After Pakistan exited the group stage, a journalist made a big allegation about Babar Azam.

The journalist accused Babar of receiving significant gifts like Audi e-trons and luxurious apartments in Australia and Dubai. The journalist said that due to this, his performance in the T20 World Cup was poor. Babar Azam has filed a case against that journalist for action regarding this allegation.

Babar Filed A Case

Pakistan team captain Babar Azam has filed a Rs 1 billion defamation case against the journalist. At the same time, the Pakistan Cricket Board has broken its silence on Babar’s match-fixing allegations. A PCB source said that we are fully aware of such damaging allegations.

PCB said that such criticism in the game is not acceptable at all. PCB sources said we have no doubt, so why should we investigate? Those who accused Babar should present evidence of this. We have sent a notice to those people and instructed them to ask for proof. PCB sources said that if we are not given evidence, we will also file a case of compensation for defamation.

There Was A Lot Of Criticism Due To Poor Performance In T20 World Cup

The Pakistan team’s performance in the T20 World Cup was very poor. Pakistan had to face defeat from India and a team like America. Due to two defeats in the group stage, they had to be eliminated from the group stage itself. Babar Azam is being blamed for this performance.
