NEET Paper Leak Case: The CBI registered a regular case on Sunday (23 June) after the Ministry of Education’s complaint in the NEET exam paper leak case. The CBI started the investigation by registering an FIR under IPC sections 420 (fraud) and 120B (conspiracy). According to sources, the CBI has registered a separate case. Bihar and Gujarat have not taken over the cases. The police of both these states are investigating and making arrests at their level.
Bihar and Gujarat Police Can Be Contacted
CBI will contact Bihar and Gujarat police whenever needed in this case. After the consent of the police of both states and when needed, their case can be taken over, and the case diary can be taken. In the UGC NET case, after the Ministry of Education’s complaint, the CBI started investigating by registering a regular case against unknown people under sections of fraud and conspiracy. The Delhi unit of the CBI will investigate the entire matter.
Apart From NEET, These Exams Were In Controversy
Earlier on Saturday (22 June), the central government decided to hand over the investigation of the NEET case to the CBI. In a statement, the government said, “To bring transparency in the examination process, the Ministry of Education has handed over the investigation of this case to the CBI after review.”
Along with NEET UG, three more exams, UGC NET, CSIR UGC NET and NEET PG, have also been controversial. While the central government cancelled the UGC NET exam, the CSIR UGC NET and NEET PG exams have been postponed.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Education also formed a committee under the chairmanship of former ISRO chairman Dr K Radhakrishnan to improve examination processes, data security protocols, and the structure of NTA.
