Air India has apologized to the passengers for the delayed flight to San Francisco and offered each passenger a $350 travel voucher. Air India’s Boeing 777 was scheduled to take off at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, but the plane took off from the national capital at 09.55 p.m. on Friday after a delay of more than 30 hours.
Passengers had to face trouble due to excessive delays caused by technical faults, bad AC, and various reasons. According to sources, there were 199 passengers on the plane. The plane landed in San Francisco at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, as per Indian time.

Air India Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Klaus Goersch said in a letter to the passengers, please apologize for the delay in the flight. The flight was delayed due to several technical disruptions and other operational constraints. This letter was written on May 31.
Airlines Offered To Give Travel Voucher Worth $350
The letter said that Air India had offered passengers a travel voucher worth $350 for future travel. Passengers will also have the option to take the equivalent amount of the voucher. It is worth noting that Air India passengers faced trouble for the second time in a week due to excessive delays in a San Francisco flight.
Show Cause Notice Issued To Air India
On Friday, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued a show-cause notice to Air India for the inconvenience caused to passengers due to excessive delay in two international flights. Earlier, Air India flight AI 179 from Mumbai to San Francisco, scheduled to take off at 4 p.m. on May 24, departed at around 5:30 p.m. on May 25.
