In its instructions to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), the Election Commission said it should postpone this decision. The Election Commission has given this instruction in response to a letter from the Road Transport and Highways Minister. The toll fee on the highways and expressways spread across the country would increase by about 5 per cent from April 1. According to a senior NHAI official, this toll rate increase is done yearly based on inflation.

Voting for the Lok Sabha elections in the country will start on April 19. After this, voting will occur on April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1. The decision will come on June 4. Electricity Rates Will Be Increased Only After Voting Is Over
