Tata Group has built a satellite to help the Indian Army. The private sector has prepared this as India’s first military-grade spy satellite. It is going to be launched soon. This satellite will be launched from the rocket of Elon Musk’s company SpaceX.
Work On Building The Ground Station Continues
According to an ET report, this satellite has been developed by Tata Group company Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL). It was prepared entirely last week. Building a ground station for this satellite is also about to be completed. The spy satellite will be controlled from the ground station, and sub-meter resolution will be processed.
Satellite Equipped With These Capabilities
This satellite will be launched through SpaceX’s rocket in April. For that, the satellite is being sent to Florida. Tata Advanced Systems Limited has developed this satellite in partnership with Latin American company Satellogic. This satellite can take pictures in a resolution of up to 0.5 meters. This will help the army to monitor the border and decide strategic targets.
These Needs Of The Army Will Be Fulfilled
After increasing tension on the border with China, the need for the army for border monitoring has increased. Currently, the army has to depend on American companies for satellite intelligence. ISRO also has sub-meter resolution satellites, but they are insufficient for the army’s needs because they often need large coverage, and sometimes the need is urgent. This satellite will reduce the army’s dependence on foreign companies in such a situation, and data will be available immediately.
Control Center Being Built In Bengaluru
A control centre is being built in Bengaluru to control this satellite. The satellite will be shown the way from the control centre itself. The photographs required by the army for monitoring the border or locking targets will also be processed in the control centre. If needed, the satellite can also be useful to friendly countries.
