China is angry over Japan releasing radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the Pacific Ocean. In such a situation, the tension between the two countries seems to be increasing. Meanwhile, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has tried to tell the whole world, including China, by eating fish, that fishes are safe to eat even after radioactive waste water goes into the sea.
Let us tell you that Japan has started releasing radioactive water stored in the nuclear power plant of Fukushima for 12 years, due to which China and Hong Kong have imposed restrictions on the seafood of Fukushima, terming it unsafe.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and three cabinet ministers of his government have consumed sashimi (a Japanese dish) from fish from the Fukushima coast for lunch. The Prime Minister’s Office of Japan shared the video of the PM eating fish. After which this clip goes viral on social media.
After eating the fish, the Japanese Prime Minister said that this fish is delicious and safe. In the video, along with him, many ministers are also seen eating fish from Fukushima. The clip also shows the leaders enjoying the Fukushima region’s fruits, rice and vegetables.
China Is Continuously Protesting
At the same time, China claims that it is not safe to eat seafood from Japan due to the effect of radioactive water. This can cause many diseases in Chinese citizens. Along with some neighbouring countries, fishermen have also opposed this move in Japan. Although Japan constantly claims to release radioactive water into the Pacific Ocean, there is no danger to the world.
Learn How So Much Water Accumulated
Due to the tsunami in Japan in 2011, three reactors of the Fukushima Nuclear Plant were shut down. Then, the tsunami strongly affected the cooling system of the reactors. In such a situation, water was used to keep the reactors cool. So far, more than one million tonnes of water have been used for this work. And now Japan cannot store this water, so it has been decided to drain it into the sea.
Let’s support the Sanriku & Joban regions through food! These regions, consisting of Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima and Ibaraki prefectures, offer wonderful marine products.

Japan Had Already Announced
Significantly, earlier in 2019, Japan’s Environment Minister had said that they had no option left but to keep the water used to keep the reactors cool, in which case this water would be forced to be released into the sea. Additionally, Japan has always claimed that the radioactive water it releases into the Pacific Ocean does not threaten the world. However, scientists from all over the world, including China, do not agree with this argument of Japan.
Know What Scientists Have To Say
According to Aljazeera’s report, Japan has planned to release water into the sea gradually. Additionally, fishing has been banned up to 3 kilometres from the area where water will be released. However, some scientists believe banning three km in the sea will have no particular benefit. This water will affect the sea creatures, and consuming sea fish will be unsafe.
