Russian Government Accuses Apple of Spying; iPhones Still Safe for Personal Use

Russian Ministry On iPhone: Amid the ongoing conflict with Ukraine, Russia’s Ministry of Digital Development has taken a big decision regarding using the Apple iPhone. The Interfax news agency reported on Friday (August 11), quoting Minister Maxut Shadayev, that Russia’s Ministry of Digital Development has banned employees’ use of Apple iPhones and iPads.

According to a Reuters report, Maxut Shadayev of the Russian Development Ministry told reporters at a digital conference that the use of Apple smartphones and tablets for official email exchange has been banned. However, it has also been said that employees can use the iPhone for personal work.

Apple Denied The Allegations

Russia’s Ministry of Digital Development issued such a ban two months after the Russian Main Domestic Security Service (FSB) claimed. The FSB had argued that the US National Security Agency had used thousands of Apple products for espionage. However, Apple has denied such allegations. Apple declined to comment on all of the FSB’s allegations.

The Hand Of The American Intelligence Agency
