France Riots: More Than 700 People Sentenced To Jail, Including A Large Number Of Minors

France Riots: More than 700 people have been sentenced to jail in the riots case after the death of a teenager in France. The Justice Minister of France gave this information on Wednesday. He said that verdicts have been pronounced in 1,278 cases, where most accused have been found guilty of brutally attacking the police. He said that six hundred people have already been sent to jail.

During a conversation, French Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti told RTL Radio that action against the culprits was very important. We needed to restore the national order. These decisions will create fear in the minds of rioters in future. He further said there is no place in the country for those who violate the law.

There Was A Ruckus On The Death Of The Teenager

Significantly, since 2005, the riots started in France on June 27, when a policeman shot and killed 17-year-old teenager Nahel. After this incident, France, including the capital, was burning. With the help of 45,000 police officers and thousands of firefighters, the situation was controlled. The policeman who killed Nahel was dismissed and sent to jail.

The Uproar This Time Was Bigger Than The 2005 Riots

According to the French Minister of Justice, more than 3,700 people were arrested during the riots in the country, including many minors, which were presented in different courts. Some were released immediately, while others were sentenced to severe punishment. He said that this time the number of people who got jail sentences is more than the number at the time of the last major riots in 2005 when around 400 people were sent to jail.
