NATO says that when all the allied countries agree on Ukraine and the conditions are met, only it will be included in the alliance. Biden got angry about this talk of NATO and has termed it absurd.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said that he has taken every step to become a member of NATO, but NATO is not ready to change one of its rules.
Zelenskyy said, “Is it too much of a wish for Ukraine to join NATO?” NATO will make Ukraine safer. If it becomes a member, Ukraine will make NATO stronger.
During his speech, Zelenskyy said one should never look back on Moscow. He thanked Lithuania for its clear, honest, courageous stand supporting Ukrainian membership.
At the same time, most of the NATO members believe that making Ukraine a member cannot be started until the war ends. NATO countries believe that Ukraine’s membership in NATO is the best way to prevent Russia from attacking again.
However, NATO members from Eastern Europe believe that the Ukraine war will end once Ukraine becomes a NATO member. They believe this is the best way to prevent Russia from invading Ukraine.
