Rahul Gandhi’s Two-Year Sentence Upheld, Will Not Be Able to Contest Elections

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has not got relief in the defamation case. The Gujarat High Court has dismissed his review petition. In the Modi surname case, Rahul has been sentenced to two years by the Magistrate Court. That means this punishment will continue.

High Court Said This

On the decision of the Magistrate Court, the High Court said that ‘the order of the lower court is completely justified and legally correct’. However, the court also said that denial of stay on his sentence does not amount to a denial of justice to him.

Rahul Will Not Be Able To Contest Elections For The Time Being

After this order from the High Court, Rahul cannot contest elections for now. He will not be able to challenge the decision of disqualification from the membership of the Parliament. Explain that on March 23, Surat’s Judicial Magistrate HH Verma convicted Rahul Gandhi and sentenced him to two years in a criminal defamation case.
