Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday praised India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Referring to PM Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, he said that it boosted the Indian economy.
Putin was speaking at a forum organized by Russia’s Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) in Moscow, the Russian television network RT reported. Putin said India encouraged its companies to develop, manufacture and assemble products locally.

Putin said, “Our friends in India and our great friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Make in India’ initiative many years ago. It has had an impressive impact on the Indian economy. There is no harm. Even if it is not us who make it but our friends.”

Putin Said – Domestic Products Will Have To Be Promoted
Giving the example of ‘Make in India’, Putin gave a message to his country that we too have to promote the products made by the companies of our country. Native brands have to be encouraged. This would require Moscow to assist Russian companies in helping them market their products more efficiently.

Vladimir Putin appreciated India’s initiative to develop local manufacturing capabilities and create an effective model to woo foreign investors. Putin said we must consider how our products should be more modern, convenient and functional.
