Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said India is proud of its Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership with the United States, built on the foundation of shared democratic values, strong people-to-people ties and unwavering commitment to global peace and prosperity.

He has also thanked Speaker of the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and House Democrats for an invitation to address a joint meeting of the US Congress during his visit to the US later this month and made this comment in a tweet thanking leader Hakim Jefferies.

The Prime Minister said, “Thank you to Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries for this invitation. I am honoured to accept it and look forward to addressing a joint sitting of Congress again. We are proud of our Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership with the United States, built on a foundation of shared democratic values, strong people-to-people ties, and an unwavering commitment to global peace and prosperity,” he said.
Will Give a Speech On June 22
Modi will address a joint session of the US Congress on June 22. Top leaders of the US Congress had announced on Friday that Modi would share his vision of India’s future and speak on the global challenges facing the two countries. President Joe Biden will host Prime Minister Modi’s official state visit to the US on June 22, including a state dinner.
In a statement, US Congressional leaders said, “On behalf of the bipartisan leadership of the US House of Representatives and the US Senate, it is our honour to invite you (Prime Minister Modi) to address a joint meeting of Congress on Thursday, June 22.” This will be the second time after June 2016 that Modi will address a joint meeting of the US Congress.
