On Thursday, Jordan’s 28-year-old Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II married 28-year-old Saudi architect Rajwa Al Hussein. This marriage remains a topic of discussion all over the world. Pictures of both are going viral on social media.
The wedding ceremony took place at the mid-century Zahran Palace in Amman, the capital of Jordan. From King Abdullah II to Queen Rania, royal family members have attended the ceremony. Jordanian singer Hussain Salman gave a special performance at the wedding. 140 guests, including the royal family, participated in the wedding. America’s First Lady Jill Biden, Prince and Princess of Wales, also attended the wedding.

For this marriage, a public holiday has been announced throughout Jordan on Thursday so a crowd can gather to shower flowers on the new couple’s convoy. After the wedding party and dinner, the royal family will move to Al Husseiniya Palace for further celebrations. Crown Prince Hussein, bin Abdullah, was engaged to Rajwa Khalid bin Saif in July last year.
This marriage has been live-streamed across the country. The wedding rituals can be seen on the giant screen. People can be seen wearing red and white checked scarves on this occasion. This scarf is the coat of arms of the ruling family of Jordan.
King Abdullah II, 61, has been on the throne since 1999. He had long groomed his eldest son, Hussein bin Abdullah, as his successor. The King accompanied the Crown Prince on essential visits and meetings. Prince Hussein became heir to the throne in 2009 when his father removed the title from his half-brother Hamza in 2004.
