Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has joined the ‘Showbiz XI’ as a mentor for the upcoming California Cup in the United States of America (USA). Sarfaraz, who won Pakistan the Champions Trophy for the first time in 2017, has reached America with the showbiz team.
Kamran Jilani Will Captain
Showbiz XI will be led by veteran Pakistani actor Kamran Jilani. Pakistan Showbiz XI will be represented by celebrities from Pakistan’s entertainment industry, including Humayun Saeed, Fakhr-e-Alam and Faizan Khan. This tournament has been played for the last 13 years and will start on Friday.
Sarfaraz Is One Of The Most Successful Captains
Sarfaraz is one of the successful captains of Pakistan. He was the captain of the Pakistan team from 2016 to 2019. Under his captaincy, Pakistan won its first Champions Trophy in 2017. Also, he led Pakistan to register 11 consecutive T20I series wins.
He lost his captaincy in 2019 after Pakistan were whitewashed in the T20I series against Sri Lanka in Lahore. He was also dropped from the team in the same year. Apart from this, the wicket-keeper batsman also captained Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2019. Recently he made a comeback to the national team after almost 4 years, and he made headlines by performing brilliantly.
