Virat Kohli Fake Fielding Video: The Indian team defeated Bangladesh in their fourth match of the T20 World Cup on Wednesday. In this rain-hit match played in Adelaide, India scored 184 for 6 wickets. Bangladesh later got the target of 151 runs in 16 overs due to rain.
The team led by Shakib Al Hasan could only manage 145 runs for 6 wickets. Meanwhile, a video related to Team India’s swashbuckling batsman Virat Kohli went viral on social media. He was accused of ‘fake fielding’.
Bangladeshi Player Made Allegations
After the defeat to Bangladesh, the team’s wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan accused Virat Kohli of false fielding. According to Nurul, the umpire ignored Virat’s ‘fake fielding’; otherwise, Bangladesh would have gotten five extra runs as a penalty.
Let us tell you that Bangladesh got defeated by only five runs. In such a situation, if Nurul’s allegations were correct, Bangladesh obviously would have won.
Nurul Said – Then The Victory Would Have Been Ours
Nurul Hasan, who scored 25 not out for Bangladesh, said after the match that the team should have got 5 runs as a penalty because of the throw-throw. He said, ‘We saw that the ground was wet.
During the match, there was a fake throw when all these things were being discussed. That would have given us five extra runs as a penalty. We would have benefited from this, but unfortunately, it did not happen.
Virat Did A Fake Fielding?
According to Cricinfo, the incident happened in the 7th over of Bangladesh’s innings. Bangladesh opener Liton Das played Axar Patel’s ball which passed through Virat, who was fielding on point.
Arshdeep Singh, fielding in the deep, caught the ball and threw it to the wicketkeeper. During this, Kohli also pretended to throw the ball on the wicket. Then the umpire did not notice it. Due to this, the on-field umpires, Erasmus and Chris Brown, did not take any action.
Law 41.5.1 states: “It is unfair for any fielder wilfully to attempt, by word or action, to distract, deceive or obstruct either batsman after the striker has received the ball,”
